Work Experience

Software Engineering Intern (Rust)
May 2026 – August 2026
Apple - Seattle, WA
  • Worked on a greenfield service offering low-latency cloud block storage for Apple’s internal compute and ML platforms
  • Designed and implemented a feature that lets platforms recover data deleted in error within a grace period
Software Engineering Intern (Rust)
January 2026 – May 2026
N1 (Founder's Fund) - New York, NY
  • Contributed to a performant perpetual futures execution platform handling more than $2B in YTD volume and more than 100k trades per day at a startup backed by Founder’s Fund
  • Designed and implemented a high-performance rate limiter from scratch, inspecting every trader action between the NIC and matching engine layers to prevent DoS attacks
  • Reduced the CPU usage of the deposit/withdrawal database by 98%, from four constantly pinned cores to one mostly idle core, by indexing expensive queries and optimizing views over large tables
  • Mitigated a live production incident that halted deposits and withdrawals, saving over $50,000
Backend Engineering Intern (TypeScript)
May 2025 – August 2025
Wise Pelican - Phoenix, AZ
  • Wrote a from-scratch fast JPEG metadata decoder, cutting off over 95% of runtime from the previous implementation by reducing data needed to process per JPEG from megabytes to a single kilobyte
  • Decreased average runtime of PDF rendering engine from 10s to 2s by moving image generation to an asynchronous model, allowing smaller requests to be processed, generated, and responded to in the time that larger PDFs were rendering
  • Worked on an autonomous AI agent that provided marketing services to customers, reaching ∼2000 contacts and generating ∼150 custom marketing assets per day
  • Wrote AWS Serverless Lambdas in TypeScript, for purposes including image processing, SMS/MMS handling, and interfacing with human sales
  • Migrated application from Azure to AWS ECS with a Codepipeline CI/CD setup, removing AWS to Azure performance bottleneck in application
